Pastor: Matthew Eades
Matthew joined Oakdale as the Senior Pastor in June 2015. Matthew and his wife, Katie, have two sons, Cooper and Connor. Matthew's involvement in ministry began in the late 90's with mission trips, drama teams, and Youth Ministry. He has been a Senior Pastor since 2007. Pastor Eades has a Masters of Divinity with Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Growing up in Catawba county, Statesville was a regular family destination. Being at Oakdale has felt like coming home, and the Eades family is excited to minister to and be a part of this community. His life verse is Micah 6:8, "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"
Music Director: Matt Redmond (Interim)
It has been my priviledge to serve at Oakdale since June of 2009. This fellowship of Christians has been a rich joy and blessing to me. My background includes a bachelor of music degree from UNCG, and several years experience in music and other ministries.
I see great potential for Oakdale, and welcome you to join us.
Youth Director: Jamin Buchanan
My wife Alex and I came to Oakdale in the Summer of 2019. We live here in Statesville- just a couple of minutes down the road from the church.
I am from Newton, North Carolina. I graduated from Bandys High School in 2009, and I got my general associates degree at CVCC in Hickory.
I have 10 years of youth ministry experience with the Cove Curch and Soma Church. I also served in youth missions with Mission Minded in Lenior and New York.
In December, 2018 I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Gardner Webb. My degree focuses on Church Leadership and Youth Discipleship.
I am so excited to partner with Oakdale and the Oakdale Youth parents to help lead these students in a better biblical understanding, developing their faith, and helping to build their personal relationship with Jesus.
Pianist: Joann Anderson
My husband, Ray and I joined Oakdale the Sunday before our 2nd daughter was born on Jan 27, 1979! When the Allen Organ was installed, I became the 1st organist. After our 3rd daughter was born in Nov of 1980, I became the pianist and have served in that position ever since. I have been playing in church off and on since the 3rd grade. In college I had the wonderful privilege of playing for and touring with the Ambassador Choir of Columbia Bible College for 1 year. I am now retired from Manheim Statesville Auto Auction and have many opportunities to serve Oakdale in other ways beside being the church pianist.
